Thank you to all the clubs that participated in the 2017-18 Governor’s Literacy Challenge. Earlier this year I asked clubs to donate at least 2 books per Rotarian to an organization of your choice and to keep track of the number of books donated.

District 5020 far exceeded that number.  Over 51,000 books were donated, or 11 books per member.  Well done! Here are the results:
Area 1:    Port McNeill
Area 2:      Cumberland Centennial
Area 4:     Nanaimo
Area 5:      Duncan
Area 6:     West Shore
Area 7:     Sidney
Area 8:     Port Townsend-Sunrise
Area 9:     Silverdale
Area 10:     Port Orchard
Area 11:     Gig Harbor Midday
Area 11.5:     Tacoma 8
Area 12:     Puyallup South Hill
Area 13:     Lacey
Area 14:     Olympia
Area 15:     Shelton

Puyallup South Hill was the overall winner, donating 90 books per member.
I hope all the clubs will continue to support literacy and education, making a difference in your communities and the world
