Governor's Visits are Underway, Foundation Questions Abound

This past month many of you have welcomed me into your clubs.  I have had a chance to meet some of you and look forward to meeting the rest of the District over the next two months.  With the Official Visits underway, I have found that so many of you have questions regarding how the new Rotary Foundation model "Future Visions" is working.  I am proud to report that we have experienced a record number of grant requests and in amounts that exceed our total of funds available.  I hear, every day, of service projects that you are doing and changing lives both in our local and global communities.  Keep up the great work.  We will be looking for more grant applications in January that may be the grants you will be doing next year.  Training is set for March 1, 2014 for the qualification process that now requires two people from each club get trained for that club to move forward with grants next year.  PLAN AHEAD is the message that we are receiving from RI and it makes good business sense to do so.  I am looking forward to supporting you as you find more innovative ways to get things done.  Best wishes as we move through 2013-14 and thanks again for your continued Rotary Service,  YOU TRULY ARE ROTARIANS.
