The Heart of Springtime!

Ah, the birds are chirping, trees are leafing and we can see the cities, towns, and mountains from all sorts of advantage points clearer than we have in years within our district.

As nature gets into action this spring, so too are Rotarians moving as #PeopleofAction.

This is the best time for renewal even in these challenging times. Some thoughts on how we can learn and grow from home in Rotary.
  1. Let’s put each other first – With the global economy shaken, many of us are fearful. Acknowledge that situation. Ask a few Rotarians if they can help you or you can help them? We need each other as well in these times.
  2. I just acknowledged the fears of many including myself at times, but others are empowered and encouraged as I feel this May. If you can help the Rotary Foundation with a gift right now, please do so, if you cannot, that’s okay. We know we can help in several ways being #PeopleofAction.
  3. Just to remind all of us that Annual Fund – Share gifts generate funds for our 5450 district grants that are relatively easily accessible. Larger gifts to the Endowment Fund can be directed to more specific causes. Rotary's Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) can also be used to direct support to Rotary or other 501(c)3 charities that are helping your community during this time. We just knocked out a bunch of local COVID19 district grants with Rotarian 5450 generosity this past month to help our local communities. We will need to fulfill Rotary’s promise again in the future.
Plan for a brighter future – Focus on how fundraising will help our district committees and community agencies to fund safe, effective ways for our community to recover. Keep sharing with each other and we will all get through this together.
