D'EVELYN HIGH SCHOOL INTERACT & PROJECT CUREAs Rotary sponsored Interact Clubs across Jefferson County schools aim to embrace the idea of Service Above Self, the D’Evelyn High School Interact Club serves others to better the community. Although faced with certain challenges within a global pandemic, the resilient D’Evelyn Interact members searched for opportunities to better serve the community. Upon connecting with South Jeffco Rotary Club member and Project C.U.R.E. volunteer, Andy McKean, our small Interact Club became excited to partake in such a big project.
Project C.U.R.E. is the world’s largest distributor of donated medical equipment and supplies across the world. The lack of basic medical supplies at Hopital De La Paix in Ziguinchor inspired Jean Sebastian Dieme to dedicate his time and efforts to helping this under-equipped hospital. The D’Evelyn Interact Club wanted to contribute to the end goal of sending a 40 foot container of donated medical supplies and equipment to this hospital. Selling donated boxes of Kenyan Kabaki tea for $20.00 a box, the D’Evelyn Interact Club was able to raise $1,040.00 towards this cause. The total donation from the Interact Club totaled $2,040.00 after a $1,000.00 donation from the D’Evelyn Interact Fund.
The steps to donate are simple as you can access the Go Fund Me page for Hopital De La Paix in the link below in addition to a Go Fund Me dedicated to aiding a hospital in Kenya. The sense of joy that this project brought during times of uncertainty truly made a difference in the lives of everyone involved. Although a small high school in Denver, Colorado, we hope that the D’Evelyn Interact Club was able to make a difference in the lives of others. We hope that you can donate to help those in desperate need and make a lasting impact.
