Here is a short description of the October program about the potential of peace around the Colorado River Conflict and our presenter, David R. Stewart, PhD, PE.

DESCRIPTION: Our presenter will focus on the conflict in water and how infrastructure projects can help provide lasting peace solutions.

BIO:  A member of the Rotary Club of Fort Collins, Dr. Stewart is President of Stewart Environmental Consultants, Inc.  He is involved with all projects, large and small, to contribute his experience and to ensure high quality is delivered to established the firm’s Environmental Laboratory.
 
His technical expertise lies in the fields of water treatment processes, hazardous materials and hazardous waste management, industrial waste water pretreatment and water quality.  He is a recognized national expert in water treatment processes.  He has been a reviewer and a contributor to National Academy of Science publications on numerous technologies.  Dr. Stewart has developed several processes for the beneficial use of nutrients harvested from wastewater.

Dr. Stewart teaches courses in water treatment processes, membrane processes, hazardous materials management and compliance with environmental regulations.  He has specific interest in the recovery of dilute minerals and elements from water and wastewater streams.  He is an adjunct professor a Colorado State University.  He provides presentations on various environmental issues to clients and community groups and is an active participant in state and local organizations.

With an extensive list of publications, leadership in trade organizations, awards, congressional testimony, and professional experience, we are pleased to bring Dr. Stewart to our Forum for Discussion.
