DG BOB KEMP'S MONTHLY MESSAGE

AUGUST IS MEMBERSHIP MONTH...

...and most Rotarians will say they get the most from their membership doing service projects.

The Denver Cherry Creek club has partnered with Metro Caring to deliver food to those in need. Demand has grown from 20,000 lbs of food per week, to 80,000 lbs. Volunteers repackage bulk dry goods, considered nutritionally dense, into 1-2 lb packages to be distributed.

PAUL HARRIS SOCIETY & POLIO PLUS UPDATE: It was incredibly great news to hear that Rotary achieved the Polio Plus match goal with slightly over 50 million in contributions to qualify for the full 100 million match from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. And the World Health Organization (WHO) pronounced Nigeria to be a polio-free country. Additionally, the world-wide network established by Rotary for polio distribution has been utilized to help with the virus reduction efforts.  Kudos to Rotary for once again benefitting the citizens of the world.
