APRIL IS A ROTARY TIME OF RENEWAL! We are seeing spring flowers and trees come alive! To our Rotarians and communities, we are coming out of a long snowy winter, to many challenges and successes before us. Rotarians are role models and can help our communities with powerful opportunities in community service and support to get back to a sense of normal times and routines.
  1. Continue supporting local businesses in your community. As we see the light at the end of the pandemic, we need to put our community back to work and can help meet several Areas of Focus.
  2. Donate time or money to local food banks; they are in desperate need right now.
  3. Continue to support your neighbors with offers to help out in any way possible especially our most vulnerable.
  4. Come volunteer at a local vaccination clinic with our partner 9Health. Let’s continue to lead our community to an embrace of #novaccinehesitation.
  5. Join in District 5450 Day of Service on May 8thWhatever project you chose, wear your Rotary Workgear and pins proudly, and if your community wants to support what we as Rotarians do, ask them to join in your next local project or fundraiser.
  6. Send a new or used book to a child in need! We all have children we know in our communities, especially older students, and with learning loss a known entity over the last year, that summer reading literature may be a key element to having our students get back to where they should be.
Contributions to The Rotary Foundation, Paul Harris Society, or grants all send rays of hope. The World Fund is beyond stretched due to the busiest year in its 104 year history of supporting clubs, communities, and projects via our TRF Grant opportunities. Please consider replenishing these funds with an April, May, or June 2021 financial gift above and beyond what you normally do. If you have never contributed to The Rotary Foundation, now is the time. Do whatever brings you joy in giving and brings the recipient smiles.  Rotarians are role models to all.

PAUL HARRIS SOCIETY IS THE SWEET SPOT! Despite the COVID disruption in our customary Rotary life, 5450 Rotarians have continued to step up. We know that The Rotary Foundation is not only THE GO-TO Foundation for Rotarians worldwide but it is an excellent central hub for all of our financial giving. We can choose the programs which are heart-felt for each of us, select the best time frame and method of contribution for our personal preferences.
