May is Youth Services month, and our District is proud to have 55 Young Rotary/Interact clubs. We are getting through this, and we will come out better and stronger.

THE HEART OF SPRINGTIME!
Ah, the birds are chirping, trees are leafing and we can see the cities, towns, and mountains from all sorts of advantage points clearer than we have in years within our district.

As nature gets into action this spring, so too are Rotarians moving as #PeopleofAction. This is the best time for renewal even in these challenging times. Some thoughts on how we can learn and grow from home in Rotary. Read more...

PAUL HARRIS SOCIETY UPDATE

Enrollments were flowing in with at least 1 per every personal club presentation.  The Paul Harris Society within The Rotary Foundation is the sweet spot for contributions to help us do even more good work to help more people. PEACE FELLOWS AND SCHOLARS UPDATE
We have one World Peace Applicant for sure and hoping for one currently working in Nigeria for the new Uganda Peace Center #7 location. This is about the time we receive more applications so keep finding those wonderful applicants from 5450. POLIO PLUS/TRF UPDATE
The spring and summer 2020 activities that had been planned by the District Polio Committee are, for obvious reasons, all put on hold for now. A quick reminder to club presidents and treasurers, please submit your donations to Polio Plus (and other Rotary Foundation funds) to RI no later than mid-June in order for them to be received and processed AND credited to those funds for the 2019-2020 Rotary Year.

The first District Polio virtual Fireside Chat hosted on April 28th was a success with over 40 participants including at least one non-Rotarian from Nigeria and Carl Tintsman who has been such a force in polio eradication until a couple of years ago. It was nice to be able to have a “conversation" and get answers to questions that might have been smoldering unanswered prior to this. CLICK HERE to listen/view the Fireside Chat recording.
