CLUB CONNECTIONS

Finding friendship and fellowship in service to community - Philip Clarke, a new member of Highlands Ranch Rotary Club, has been published in the Denver Post e-newsletter and the HUB. His story tells of taking his own advice on "making new friends as an adult and jokingly referred to the ancillary benefit of increasing the turnout at my funeral" by joining a service club. His search led him to Rotary. Click Here to Read the Full Article

Boulder Rotary works to help connect reservation homes to clean water. For the Oglala Lakota Sioux Tribe in the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, access to clean water is a daily obstacle. The tribe is one of dozens of Indigenous tribes across the United States that are faced with a shortage of safe water and as a result, their population is experiencing various fatal illnesses. Denver Cherry Creek Rotarian Sarah Werner received the Unsung Heroine Award at the 2022 Colorado Women's Day Event! The Unsung Heroine award is given to women for their good works in the community, especially volunteer service, service which improves lives of women and children, service that positively impacts those most in need in the community, or those who inspire others by demonstrating courage through difficult situations. The Unsung Heroine is one who has made quiet but impactful achievements. Congratulations Sarah!

Post your story on your club's website or Facebook page, and then send the link to office@rotary5450.org. Doing so will give your club more exposure - readers will see the story on your club's site, which will let them know more about your club and members.
