DG SANDY MORTENSEN'S MONTHLY MESSAGE

January was a special month – Mid-year Presidents training, Grant training and the RI President’s Dinner. I want to thank every Rotarian that took advantage of these events. The video link below shows my interview with RI President Barry Rassin.

And there is so much more to come: NAYEN Conference, The North American Youth Exchange Network, is March 14-16. They are looking for volunteers from our District. And April 27th is the District Conference, a time to connect with fellow Rotarians to be inspired and to be the inspiration. Display space is limited in the Hall of Service so sign up on line for your Club’s display. I’m excited to connect with all of you!

PARKER ELEMENTARY CHILDREN FOOD SHARE

A group of Gold Rush Elementary School fourth-and fifth-graders are leading the charge for an inter-school food drive for the Parker Task Force and are encouraging their older classmates to do the same. In 2018 they collected 5,500 food items to fill 198 backpacks, and presented their program to the Cimarron Middle School students in January. Cheryl O'Brien, a member of the Cherry Creek Valley Rotary Club, whose role is to oversee services for young people throughout Parker, said “Obviously, they're not afraid to impact their peers. Their passion is strong..." Click Here to read the full story in the Parker Chronicle.
