JUNE 2019

Parting Words from DG Sandy

To “Be The Inspiration” one has to make connections! There was never enough time at my club visits, the trainings, the District Conference, and recently RI International Convention for more in-depth connection. But you, the Rotary Members of District 5450 are an inspiration to me, the diversity of community projects, global projects, fundraisers, the camaraderie in your clubs…you knocked my socks off this year!

My parting words to you are to continue to tell your stories in as many places and as many times as you can about the projects you and your Clubs are doing to make our communities and the world a better peaceful place. We’ve only just begun letting everyone know what Rotary does and how Rotary has impacted our own lives.

Thank you for your support, and friendship, this past Rotary Year.

DG SANDY MORTENSEN'S MONTHLY MESSAGE

DG Sandy has two videos this month! The first is a farewell message and thank you to all of the members in the District. The second was filmed while in Hamburg, Germany - some exciting news about Crutches 4 Africa expansion with the help of Nathalie with ROTEX - Rotary Youth Exchange students. Be sure to watch both videos!

THE DISTRICT IS HERE FOR YOU
2019 RI HAMBURG CONVENTION - WHAT AN INSPIRATION

A BIG thank you to DG Sandy and Deborah Kelly for their "kick-start" campaign to get me to the RI Convention in Hamburg, and to all the other Rotarians in the District that contributed! What a wonderful and inspirational time - what follows is an overview of my trip - the experiences, friends, leadership training, House of Friendship, Miniature Train Museum, dinner at the Elbphilharmonie Concert Hall...and you can't miss the video of DG Sandy and Lou doing the polka at the Hoffbrau Hamburg!!! Hope you enjoy watching it as much as we did filming the King & Queen of Polka!

The Rotary Foundation Vision: “Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.” Adopted by the Board and Trustees in June 2017, this vision statement reflects the impact Rotary aspires to have on the world and our members.

DOING GOOD IN THE WORLDYour 2018-19 year-end gift to Rotary’s Annual Fund supports projects that create lasting change in your community and around the world. Donate to The Rotary Foundation today to help Rotarians continue Doing Good in the World.

Our District Designated Funds and Global Grant funding is dependent on our District 5450 Rotarians’ gifts to the Annual Fund.  Clubs in our district are applying and receiving funds to do the projects that tug at their hearts.  To make this happen, please donate today so that our District Foundation team can fund even more projects in the future.
