Rotary World Peace Fellowships
 
District 5450 World Peace Committee is accepting nominations for two exciting initiatives.  Each year Rotary funds some of the world’s most dedicated and brightest professionals to study at the Rotary Peace Centers. Eligibility requirements and other details are available at:   https://my.rotary.org/en/peace-fellowship-application. The Club interview and selection process needs to be completed by May 1, 2022. Our next round of application period will be February 2023.
 
There are two different initiatives:
 
♦  A two-year fellowship to study for a Master’s Degree at one of six locations around the world.  Up to 50 candidates will be selected worldwide. The degree will focus on world peace and international conflict resolution. Scholar applicants may not attend universities in their home countries.  
 
♦  A new one-year (replacing the previous three month) certificate program at the Rotary Center in Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand and at new in 2011 Rotary Peace Center at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda — our first peace center in Africa. Only applicants living or working in the region may apply.  Each center will be accepting 40 candidates annually for two 20 person course groups.  This is a professional development certificate program of interactive study focused on peace and conflict resolution. It has new and expanded program content beginning with the selectees of 2021.

How Rotarians can Help
 
Individual Rotarians and clubs may participate in the scholarship process by:
 
  • Identifying and sponsoring candidates
  • Publicizing the program throughout their professional and academic networks
  • Sources of qualified candidates include local colleges and universities, government agencies, former international volunteers, mediation, arbitration and dispute resolution groups, and former Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholar and Group Study Exchange alumni
