Rotary Youth Exchange students are settling into life in Minnesota as they begin the exciting journey of attending school, experiencing American culture, and becoming part of their host families and communities.

The next North Star event, the Fall Festival on October 24, will give students an opportunity to connect, serve, learn, and have fun together. Participants will take part in a service project, visit Hocokata Ti to explore local history and culture, and enjoy many seasonal activities at Sever’s Fall Festival, including the corn maze, corn pit, and pumpkin launch!

Tuomas

Interests: Basketball, trying new foods and in all the rotary activities that happening

Fun Fact about his exchange:  I went fishing for the first time in my life and the reel part of the rod flew in the water but in the end we got it back by reeling all of the fishing line back.

Michelle

Interests:  I’m very interested in sports.  I play tennis, golf, go to the gym and ice skated for 8 years. If anyone likes to join me for golf I would be very happy.  When I grow up I want to have my own fashion brand and be in the business of marketing.  I would also want to have my own marketing agency.

Fun Fact about her exchange:  People are so open and nice and talk to you and in Switzerland no one really reaches out and talks.  And another one is here, everything is in XXL size!
