There was a very significant event in Brooklyn Park on August 14th: "The Ground Breaking for Brooklyn Avenues," a safe house for homeless youth.  The ground breaking marked a major milestone in the combined efforts of the Brooklyn Park area community including the City of Brooklyn Park, the "Avenues for Homeless Youth" organization, the "Brooklyn Area Ministerial Association" and many other local and civic groups.  The Rotary Club of Brooklyn Park raised and donated more to "Avenues" than any other single organization.  They made a commitment in February 2014 and more than met it. Shown in the picture above are Brooklyn Park Rotarians Jamie Verbrugge, Eldon Tessman, Daryll Cameron, Clare Brumback, Carl Billings, Gina Smith and Harry Jebens.
