On the evening of June 30th, Leif Hagen was installed as the new Rotary District 5950 Governor in front of his family and more than 150 Rotarians and guests.
The evening hosted by Eagan Rotary Club created a night filled with pride, celebration, and heartfelt moments.
The program featured Svea Hagen’s beautiful performances of the National Anthem and “America the Beautiful". The past was honored with a parade of Past District Governors.
Inspiring messages from PDG Sandy Schley and RI Director Tom Gump followed by a congratulatory video greetings from ten international DGs encouraged incoming DG Leif Hagen. A very memorable appearance by Tim Mulcrone as “Bob Ross” highlighting Polio Eradication concluded the program
IPDG Mark Shockey formally installed Leif, along with DGE Sam Thompson and DGN Scott Swenson, before Leif delivered an artistic and meaningful acceptance speech using paint colors to illustrate Rotary’s seven areas of focus. The Ames Center was the perfect backdrop for the event and 20 original global portrait paintings lined the room, the evening set the tone for a year where District 5950 will “Create Lasting Impact” and continue painting “The Art of Rotary.”
