The Minnesota Rotary Club for Serving Minnesota Veterans is hosting the Installation of District Governor Mark Shockey; the location was chosen for its deep symbolism for veterans and their families. The museum is a special place, home to nearly 20 restored aircraft, all returned to flying condition. The Trainer Hangar displays the only restored military vehicle built in Minnesota for wartime use. The Fighter Hangar features a compelling exhibit of soldiers storming the beach on D-Day, including an actual landing craft used in battle and the jeep of General Omar Bradley, which he used in France after D-Day.
One of the most profound artifacts resides in the Bomber Hangar: a historical rail car believed to be one of the few remaining of its kind. This rail car transported marginalized groups to concentration camps during the Holocaust. It stands as a solemn reminder of history, reinforcing our commitment to Rotary’s mission of service and humanity.
Fagen Fighters WWII Museum is a showcase of significant iconic aircraft and ground equipment from the World War II era. Most importantly, it is a tribute to the men and women of the Greatest Generation whose incredible sacrifices during that time shaped the freedom and liberty we enjoy today. Their mission is to preserve the memory of the heroes of WWII, promote patriotism in today’s Americans, and inspire tomorrow’s leaders to study and apply history’s lessons.
