The Triangle of Awesomeness brings together Zone 28 leaders from B.C. and Alberta who are passionate about the Three Essential Elements of Rotary – The Foundation, Membership and Public Relations/Public Image. It’s otherwise known as the Triangle of Awesomeness.
Using a team approach – the importance of working together – we are stronger, mightier and get more things done. The team relies on regular communications and meets regularly, three to four times a quarter. This work is critical to get consensus and to build the framework. It’s based on a shared commitment to do things differently and it is hard work. We are mindful of others and creating new relationships at the zone level as well as the districts. The Rotary Districts we are collaborating with are 5010, 5040 and 5050.
We’ve been asked why are doing this work and the answer is simple. We have must be more effective with supporting our districts. We are pushing past the notion of “it has always been done this way.” There aren’t any silos. We are working to empower with collaboration. There is also a high degree of knowledge sharing - everyone is aware and mitigate questions

Membership is integrated into all areas of clubs, districts and the zone. The approach is to have an integrated approach and to also help districts think beyond a membership committee but to see membership as the main focus for all.

We are doing this by meeting with other Zone 28 coordinators to share resources, ideas, challenges and focus on exploring ways to support the districts. The districts are intrigued by a new approach and are also watching and learning and appreciate that change management is not easy.

We are segmented the quarterly meetings, first with an introduction to the team, followed by a session on The Rotary Foundation, followed by public image and membership. We are also bringing in speakers

It’s all about progress, not perfection. It is important to remember to have fun and enjoy the journey.
