Have you ever felt...fear...anxiety...depression...or hopelessness because of climate change?

Anyone who's paying attention probably feels some of these, or other, powerful emotions. We can frame our climate activism in a way that supports our emotional resilience, even in the face of our fears and grief.  Gratitude, connection, and humor are parts of a framework that can inspire and sustain us.  Join us for a hopeful look at climate work that holds and transforms us.

Our guest will be Demie Stathoplos. Demie retired from her clinical social work, non-profit and for-profit management roles, and family caregiving work, and became a full time climate activist about 6 years ago.  She has facilitated a group of city staff and climate advocates in the implementation of the residential portion of the Newton Climate Action Plan over the past 2 1/2 years.  She is on both the local leadership team for the Newton node of the 350Mass climate group, as well as the statewide steering team for 350Mass.  She leads the Climate Action Task Force at the First Unitarian Universalist Society in Newton, and was given the Lynn Holbein Award for her social justice and climate work with the UUMass Action statewide climate team in 2022. She is committed to helping people find ways to take personal and political actions to address the climate crisis.

When you register the link for the Climate Cafe will be emailed to you. Feel free to share!
