With information from the District and Englewood Club records, we have prepared this brief account of this year.

The Rotary International President was Charles Pettengill from Greenwich, Connecticut, U.S.A., and the International Convention was held at Atlantic City, New Jersey.

During Governor Russ's year the first District Conference out of the United States was held at West End in the Bahamas. The Conference was a huge success with over 800 Rotarians and guests attending the event. Four Flying Tiger planes were chartered to fly the group to the Bahamas.

The Englewood Cliffs Club, which was sponsored by Governor Russ's home club of Englewood, was chartered at an event at the Tammy Brook Country Club.

From the data we have on this year, we do know that Walter Miller of the Union city Club served as the District Treasurer. We also know that Governor Russ spent many hours away from his busy insurance office to assure that this was one of our finest Rotary years.
