Hope you're all enjoying the summer! It's been a great start to this Rotary year. We kicked off our first District Staff Meeting in July with a great guest speaker, Debra Visconi CEO and President of New Bridge Medical Center. Deb spoke about Mental Health and behavioral health issues and how our district can help create a stigma free environment.
Bergen County Prosecutor Mussella and Assistant Prosecutor Rebein will be speaking on how Police Officer Community assists those in a mental health crisis. They will talk about how Bergen County has prioritized Early Intervention and providing people with resources prior to a justice involvement. They will speak to their involvement in the Attorney General's ARRIVE initiative - a mental health diversion program. (See details below)

At this year's Presidents Ball/Banner Exchange, Paul Harris Society Chair Rick Saltarelli inducted the two newest members of the Paul Harris Society. On Tuesday August 1, 2023 members of the Paramus Rotary Club participated at the National Night Out event held on the grounds behind the Paramus Public Library and the Rotary Club of Paramus Band Shell, Gazebo, and Peace Park.
Friday we had the opportunity to meet and learn about a few of our rotary scholarship award winners. Our future is bright with these amazing students leading the way. Congrats to them and best of luck!!!
John cosgrove's district directory

We are now accepting ads for next year's District Directory, which DGE John Cosgrove will publish. In the past, the District Directory has raised enough money to help our District bring in new members, improve our District's social occasions and even provide some scholarships for RYLA students. COST: $399 for Rotarians (wherever they are from) and for students -- payable by credit card through Club runner.

Many of our District 7490 Rotary Clubs plan to take part in this year's Walk to End Alzheimer's on Saturday morning, October 13th, in Overpeck Park in Ridgefield. As we did last year, we will be holding a drum circle for all the volunteers just prior to the walk.
