Wayne Rotary Club

Dennis has been an active member of the Wayne Rotary Club since 1993. He served his club in all the offices, except Secretary, and held the office of President in 1998-1999.

During his year as President he facilitated the club's presence on the internet; instituted the club's "Who Am I ?" program, where club members take time during meetings to tell the club about their interests and family life outside of Rotary and their vocation; and established the club's second annual fund raiser, the Mother's Day Rose Sale. The club received the Presidential Citation and the Rotary Public Relations Award for the year he was President.

Dennis has served as chairman of his club's largest fund raiser, the annual Florida Citrus Sale; Chairman of the Audit Committee; Chairman of the Disbursements Committee; Scholarship Chairman; Program Chairman; and as a member of the RYLA Student Selection Committee.

He has been a Trustee of the Foundation for the Handicapped, Inc. for six years. The Foundation was founded by the Wayne Rotary Club and provides a meaningful workplace for mentally and physically challenged adults in the Wayne area. The Foundation has been continuously supported by the Wayne Club since its organization in 1968. The club was honored to receive the first annual Florrie Scialla Award for Community Service in recognition of its many years of dedicated service to the Foundation. Dennis served three years as Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

At the district level, Dennis served as Chief of Staff, Assistant Governor, Governor's Representative for two years, Group Study Exchange area coordinator and Chairman, District Directory Co-chair, Gift of Life Foundation Trustee and Treasurer, Permanent Fund Chairman, and as a P.E.T.S. Facilitator for three years. He has been a member of the Polio Eradication Private Sector Initiative Committee, Walter D. Head Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee, the This is Rotary CD Committee, and the Rotary Foundation Recognition Dinner Committee. He is a Multiple Paul Harris Award Recipient, a Walter D. Head Fellow, and a graduate of the Rotary Leadership Institute.

Dennis was raised in Clifton and is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University where he received a Degree in Accounting. He is a U.S. Army veteran and served a one year tour of duty in Vietnam. He has been a self-employed Management Consultant for the past eleven years. Previously, he held Financial Executive positions with corporations in New York City and Northern New Jersey.

He is a member of St. Thomas More Church, and a Life Member of The Vietnam Veterans of America and The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. He is an inactive private pilot and a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. His outside interests include golf, history, reading best sellers, and travel.

He has been married for thirty-four years to his wife Rita, a Special Education Teacher in the Clifton school system. They have a daughter Jennifer, who is a television news reporter and anchor for WISTV, the NBC television station in Columbia, South Carolina.
