Activities for the year included the New York Vocational Assembly held at the New York Hilton Hotel, the annual District Football Game at West Point, a Theater party at the Elmsford Playhouse, the annual Interclub meeting, and the 75th Anniversary President's Ball held at the Birchwood Manor at Whippany, where one of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of a diamond solitaire ring to one of the women attending the event in recognition of Rotary International's 75th. Anniversary.

Governor Harold took our District to Acapulco, Mexico for our District Conference and it was an unforgettable experience in the beautiful Princess Hotel on the Pacific Ocean. Governor Harold and first lady Shirley had made a close acquaintance with PDG Walter and Julia Pulliam while they were at Boca Raton for the Rotary Assembly. The Pulliams who were from Tennessee as was our Rotary International President for the year; Governor Harold had Walter and Julia serve as the Representatives of the President at our Conference at Acapulco. At the same Boca Raton Assembly Governor Harold and Shirley also developed a relationship with Jose and Rosita Bejar and they in turn represented the host District from Mexico at the Conference.

A film library committee was established to coordinate the District's file of tapes. An active youth activities program was held during the year and support continued for the Rotary foundation and the Walter Head Foundation.

With international relationships Governor Harold had developed during the year, our District had an opportunity to better recognize our role as a member of an international organization and not just a group of clubs in the State of New Jersey.
