Tim Eustace will talk about his 20 years of traveling to Kenya and his pr
ojects there: .Here's a preview to Tim's presentation: In 2003 our family
took a trip to Kenya. We wanted the boys to see the difference between how
Americans and Africans lived. Our youngest\, Corey\, was so affected by t
he poverty that he insisted we try to help. We explained that there was li
ttle we could do. He took his photos from the trip to school.( he was a fi
fth grader at the time) He managed to raise $1500 going class to class tel
ling his tale. He came home and told us to do something. So\, begins this
journey. We started by feeding lunch to the students at Mpopongi Primary s
chool. $17 a day fed the entire school. This led to an increase in student
s from 100 to 600. They needed classrooms\, so we went every July with a g
roup of volunteers to build\, brick by brick\, a self sustaining primary s
chool that now boasts teachers. We met twenty years ago as students. Fast
forward to present day\, we have built two primary schools with over 1200
students\, graduated youngsters who have come back to work in the communit
y as teachers\, guides\, cooks and many other occupations that support gro
wing families. This year a group of 14 volunteers began construction on th
e first high school in the area. It will make it possible for many more st
udents to continue their education. There are other benefits as well. With
our help\, the schools have rescued scores of young girls from early marr
iage. Our health clinics have improved the general health of the local pop
ulation. Over the years each volunteer has paid their way and have raised
a minimum of $1000 toward that year's project. We have many who return and
many new volunteers. We need your help. This international service projec
t has survived basically on our volunteers. Join us\, get your hands dirty
\, build with us\, change lives and have yours forever changed. Please don
ate or travel with us. A bonus is the safari on the last day\, a true buck
 et list event!
