The Rotary Club of North Bay-Nipissing club gifted each resident of Cassellholme Home for The Aged with a card, rose and chocolates as a special “thinking of you” project for Valentine’s Day.
Each staff member and administration also received a Valentine’s card and boxes of chocolates and bouquets were delivered to each nursing station and the Administration office for all to enjoy.

Activity Director Mandy Gilchrist commented that “the staff were delighted to deliver the gifts to the residents on behalf of the Rotarians”. She added, “this is truly a nice gesture of kindness for residents and staff alike”.

COVID restrictions have severely limited resident interactions with family and friends and it was agreed that receiving a thoughtful gesture from an organization in their community would be especially welcome at this time. The club was also committed to acknowledging the dedication of the staff during the pandemic.

Initiator of the project, Rotarian Lyn Vuorimaki, commented that “our Rotarians continue to embody Rotary’s motto ‘Service Above Self’ and we are committed to continuing to assisting our community whenever and wherever possible”.
