The Results are in!  
 
In March, a Challenge to ALL clubs in District 7010 was launched and clubs were invited to submit their “Best Membership Practice”!  The winners were to be determined by the District Membership Committee and the prize to be awarded was $300 for first place, $200 for second place and $100 for third place.
Congratulations go to:
 
1.  First place winner:  Rotary Club of Kirkland Lake
Synopsis:
  • target Rotarians with young children
  • children welcomed and involved in: 
    • walk for polio – family walk
    • student youth exchange – sit in on interview
    • Wheels for Learning – youth challenged school to raise funds for bikes – through gym & hat days purchased 10 bikes
    • another youth canvassed and raised funds for 20 bikes
    • Rotarian’s baby’s 1st birthday – asked for donation to Wheels for Learning instead of gift
    • hockey night in Roatan – youth, 9 gave speech at Rotary club requesting funds
Outcome :  club of 20 in town of 7,500 – ages 20’s to 60+
 
2.  Second place winner:  Rotary Club of North Bay 
Synopsis:
  • Collaboration of all 3 Rotary/Rotaract Clubs within the North Bay Nipissing area
  • “ONE” Rotary – 3 doors!
  • Invitation to social at a local restaurant hosted by the 3 clubs
Outcome:  Rotaract received 4 leads; RC North Bay & RC North Bay Nipissing each had 1 prospect
 
3.  Third Place winner:  Rotary Club of Wasaga Beach
Synopsis:
  • Target families with children, business community & educators
    • Fee structure revisited
    • More “family inclusive” &
    • Flexible meeting times
  • ClubRunner, Rotarians Facebook (FB) pages, RC Wasaga Beach FB page & all community FB pages
  • Family of Rotary – Monday 6:30 – 8 pm, Wasaga Beach Rec Plex – dessert only
Outcome:   Media covered evening meetings and the bond between Rotary members was increased.
