DG Gary has selected a wonderful community service project that will have them "Jammin' In The Sunshine" in our "ROTARY CONNECTS THE WORLD MUSIC PARK"  in Bryan/College Station Sports Complex located inside Brazos Valley Veteran's ParkDuring one afternoon at our conference, everyone is invited to come with us to the park for an official dedication ceremony of our D5890 Music Park which includes D5890 signage.
So far, we have 36 D5890 Rotary clubs and Rotarians that have contributed to help DG Gary build this music park.  See the list below, and we would love to add you and your club to the list of donors so we reach our $20,000 goal.
Each D5890 Governor selects a district conference community service project that will benefit the local community for years to come, and our "Rotary Connects The World" Music Park will do just that!  Our section of the park will be accessible and compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) so everyone will be able to enjoy the instruments together.

At the 2017 Rotary International Convention in Atlanta, DG Gary discovered the project he wanted to do for his 2020 district conference:  Freenotes Harmony Park.  Made in the USA, these instruments are sturdy, weather-resistent pieces of art that allow everyone the ability to create beautiful music.
Freenotes Harmony Park is the industry leader in outdoor musical instruments. Invented by Grammy Award-Winning musician Richard Cooke more than 20 years ago these innovatively designed instruments are durable, sustainable, and perfectly tuned sound sculptures that enhance any outdoor space. Freenotes Harmony Park is creating a Global Musical Park Movement, creating music parks in communities everywhere. They have musical instrument installations on 5 continents including North and South America, Europe, Australia and Asia. In the United States, they have installations in all 50 states and CLICK HERE for their notable public music parks including several sponsored by Rotary clubs. The instruments are designed and manufactured in sunny Durango, Colorado, and they're made to last decades in both hot and cold climates.
Our goal is to raise $20,000+ to purchase a collection which includes multiple instruments.  Rotarians and Rotary clubs can make a contribution to "Rotary District 5890 Charities, Inc.", which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and add "Music Park" in the memo section.  Mail to:  Rotary District 5890 Charities, Inc. C/O Jackie Barmore, 3525 Preston Avenue, Pasadena, TX 77505.
