PolioPlus Day Results - $34,000

Congratulations to every District 5890 Rotarian who participated in our Polio Day events on 11/21/15. Thanks to all of you, we raised a total of almost $34,000 for Polio eradication between the Party at the Park/Bike Ride/Motorcycle Ride and the PolioPlus Society Dinner. We also received considerable social media attention due to your efforts. Our donations of $34,000 will multiply to $102,000 with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation - which is enough to vaccinate 170,000 children with the Oral Polio Vaccine.
It is critical that we continue to fund the Global Polio Eradication Effort - and that we earn the full $35 Million per year Gates Match - until we reach eradication - which will be three years after we reach zero Polio cases. Thanks for all that you have done to move us one step closer to that goal!
