Katy Memorial Tower Dedication - Sep 11
Katy Rotary Club, Fort Bend County & Veterans of Foreigh Wars Post 9182 will dedicate and consecrate the Freedom Park Memorial Tower at 10:00 am on Friday, Sep 11 at the Fort Bend County Freedom Park baseball fields on south side of Westheimer Parkway, just east of Fry Road. This legacy project, underway for more than four years, is chaired by Rotarian David Frishman & co-chaired by Rotarian Ken Burton. "We have looked forward to this day, to celebrate with the Katy Rotary Club, Katy Rotary Fund, and the VFW, their service and work, on behalf of our community and our nation", said Fort Bend County Commissioner and Katy Rotarian Andy Meyers.
Nick Schrader, Katy Rotary Club President, remarked that "our Rotary Club has been in the lead for this project since 2011, and we are so pleased to have helped create this memorial, for those that served our country and to remember the 9-11 attack on our country." Schrader said that memorial pavers to identify families with the memorial may be purchased on the Katy Rotary Club web site www.katyrotary.com or from any Rotarian and at the park on Sep 11.
