2016 Interact 5890 District Conference
Saturday, March 5, 2016 - 8 a.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Arrival: 8:00 - 8:45 a.m.
Starts at 9 a.m.
Ends at 10:30 p.m.
Cost: $20/Interactor - Registration Deadline: February 25th
Hosted at Sealy High School, 2372 Championship Drive, Sealy TX 77474
Attendance: Limited to only 400 Interactors!
Registration will be accepted in the order that Registration Forms are received.
Teacher/Faculty Advisers: Please register those Interactors that you know have been
ACTIVE and INVOLVED in your Interact club this school year.
This is an annual district-wide event in which Interactors, Rotarians, and Teacher Advisers from all over District 5890 gather together to celebrate a great "Service Above Self" year of helping others. Interact clubs are invited on stage to show their video showcasing their service projects, fundraisers, and social events. You’ll even have chances to win great door prizes!
ADVISERS....HERE'S A PAYMENT HINT/SUGGESTION:
Many Teacher Advisers have adopted a policy that requires each Interactor to submit the $20 registration fee in advance of adding them to the Registration Form. If your club submits a Registration Form for 10 students...your club must pay for all 10 students. If a student has paid but can't attend, another student can attend in their place. Example: Your Registration Form has 10 attending, 3 are unable to go, so only 7 attend. Payment for all 10 is required. This is due to the fact that we will have already ordered t-shirts and food, and we can't receive a refund.
We have 80 Interact clubs in Rotary District 5890 with over 3,000 Interact members.
Due to space limitations, conference attendance will be limited to a total of only 400 exceptional Interactors on a "first-come, first-served" registration basis.
This year's conference is for your Interactors that you know have been ACTIVE and INVOLVED in their Interact club this school year.
Suggested criteria for Teacher/Faculty Advisers to select Interactors:
1. The Interactor has outstanding attendance at this school year's Interact club meetings.
2. The Interactor has regularly attended this school year's Interact service projects AND fundraisers.
3. The Interactor has paid their District Dues of $3, and your club has paid those dues to Interact District 5890.
4. The Interactor has paid their own Interact club's dues (if any).
5. The Interactor is a member of "good standing".
Chaperones: Each Interact club must have a chaperone at the conference. Chaperones can be teachers, parents, and/or Rotarians. The same chaperone does not have to stay for the entire time, so 4 or 5 chaperones can be there and work in shifts. For each 15 students, there must be 1 adult chaperone.
