ABOUT HARVEST FOR THE HUNGRY - TEXAS

This year, we're volunteering at Harvest for the Hungry-Texas which is a (501)(c)(3) non-profit organization fighting for those who struggle with food insecurity.  Their organization depends on volunteers' time, gifts and talents to create a community free of hunger.

Located in Freeport, Texas, they are located on 61 acres where they grow "farm to table" fruits, vegetables, honey, eggs, fish and other healthy foods so they can provide them at no cost, year round to those in need.

WHAT WILL WE BE DOING?  GARDENING...AND PLANTING FRUIT TREES
  • We will be planting, maintaining and harvesting farm food for those struggling with food insecurity.
  • The last freeze resulted in the loss of the majority of their fruit frees, so one of the projects we're doing be planting new fruit trees.

WANT TO SPONSOR A $50 FRUIT TREE (Donations to Harvest for the Hungry-Texas Are 100% Tax Deductible!)

  • What's needed?  We need sponsors for $50 fruit trees and your donation will be 100% tax deductible!
  • Our goal:   Replace and plant 25-30 trees or more lost during the last freeze, so please consider sponsoring one or more tree
  • Here's how you can make a DONATION to help:    https://donorbox.org/harvest-for-the-hungry-donation-campaign?default_interval=o
  • Remember to check the "Write A Comment" box and write:  "D5890 Gardening with the Governor Tree"
Come join us on May 21st and help us make a difference for those who struggle with hunger!
