Grande Prairie Interactor wins $80K scholarship

A recent graduate of Grande Prairie Composite High School credits his Interact experience for helping him win a major scholarship to study at the University of Calgary.

“Interact has been an amazing experience for me,” says Shubh Patel. “That experience is what I used for the majority of my scholarship essay when I was applying for the Schulich Leader Scholarship.

“My involvement in the Rotary Interact club helped me develop my leadership skills and I think that’s what really was one major factor that got me the scholarship.”

• Complete the screening survey within 24 hours before your scheduled visit.
• Send a copy of the survey to the office prior to your visit.
• Bring a copy of the survey with you.
• Wear a mask.

Youth Service co-chairs named

District Governor Jim Ferguson announced this week the appointment of Rotaractor Myles Dykes (MacEwan University Rotaract) and Rotarian John Lehners (RC of Grande Prairie—Swan City) as co-chairs of the District’s youth services committee. 

“Both have a lot of board and youth services experience,” Jim said. “They will be heading up Youth Exchange, Youth camps, Interact and Earlyact, and will help to develop the next generation of community leaders and Rotarians.”


Members of the Rotary E-Club of Canada One invites prospective E-Satellite Club members to join them to celebrate RECONNECT 2020 on during their weekly Coffee Chat on Thursday, October 8 (8:00 a.m. MDT).

During RECONNECT 2020 (October 5-11), Rotary International invites Rotary alumni from across the globe to participate in their former (or future) host club events.

Please encourage former youth exchange students, peace scholars, RYLA and RYPEN participants, former Interactors or Rotaractors, or anyone between the ages of 18 and 45 who may be interested in Rotary to join E-Club Rotarians for fellowship during the coffee chat.
