The May 12 District Breakfast will take place from 7:00-9:00am at the Westin LAX Hotel, 5400 W. Century Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90045. Complimentary self parking is provided. Breakfast tickets are $27/person and checks can be made payable to "Rotary District 5280" and sent to the District Office, 8939 S. Sepulveda Blvd., Suite 312, Los Angeles, CA 90045.

Because this event will be facilitated by the Rotary youth, our featured speaker will be Rev. Jeff Carr, Director of Gang Reduction and Youth Development Programs for the City of Los Angeles. As deputy mayor, Rev. Carr advances the City's efforts to reduce gang violence, enhances opportunities for youth and oversees all gang prevention, intervention and re-entry programs.

In 1987, Jeff began a 17-year career with the Bresee Foundation which included its youth program to provide recreation, tutoring, college scholarships, technology, employment training, social activities and spiritual development for over 3,500 low income youth and families. Prior to his current position, Jeff served from 2005-07 as Chief Operation Officer/Chief of Staff for Sojourners/Call to Renewal in Washington DC, a progressive Christian social justice organization.
