My sincerest thanks to DG Lew and all the Rotarians in our proud D5280! Group Study Exchange (GSE) team from D2620 went back to Japan on May 15 with the fondest memories and much gratitude to all of you. They enjoyed the candid conversations they had with their host families on cultural differences and similarities. They were amazed by the advanced technologies used at each vocational site they visited, including ABC7, Glendale Police Department's jail, and Dr. Brian Bergh's orthodontic clinic.  They also learned California's rich mosaic history, including the Japanese Americans', Hispanics', and Armenians'.

For most of the team members, this was their first visit to Southern California. You gave them such an impression that they all want to come back to visit you. If you ever visit Japan, please make sure to contact them.

Proudly, I am reporting to you that we had a very successful final year of GSE. Many have complimented that this was the best GSE team. Our out-going GSE team received similar applauds in D2620. From next Rotary year, we will start our new tradition of Vocational Training Team and I look forward to this new exciting program.

Domo arigato again for your very warm support for GSE!
