Rotary District 5080 is an international district that includes 61 Rotary clubs located in south-eastern British Columbia Canada, northern Idaho USA and eastern Washington state USA. We are joined in common by the waters of the mighty Columbia River system.

Our District is diverse; the northern section is dominated by the spectacular beauty of Canada's Mountains, pristine lakes and beautiful forests. The south eastern section of the District is the rich agricultural area of the Palouse with its interesting rolling hills. In the western portion of the District agriculture differs as the land is fed by irrigation from the mighty Columbia and Snake Rivers and the terrain is high mountain desert.

Many of our communities have undergone a transition from their roots in the mining and forestry industry and are now re-creating themselves as tourist destinations that provide an array of ski hills,  golf courses and geo-thermal pools. Industry is a major player in the larger urban communities; however, most of our communities are rural in nature.

The major airport in our district include Spokane, WA ; there are smaller airports in the Lewiston-Clarkston and Pasco areas. On the Canadian side of the border, airports are located at Castlegar and Cranbrook, British Columbia.

District 5080 has a well developed Rotary Friendship Exchange program and has successfully completed exchanges with districts in Turkey, England, the USA, India, New Zealand, Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Sweden and South Africa.

Our District is listed in Rotary's Friendship Exchange Chairs Directory and on Rotary's Friendship Exchange Matching Board. We are usually developing exchanges two years in advance of when they will take place.

Please note that Canada and the United States have different visa requirements.

We welcome inquiries from Districts interested in doing an exchange with D5080.
