Rotary Development Weekend: District Assembly

Andrew Carnegie once said if you want to be successful at any business become a student of that business.   Rotary is no different.  To be a more effective Rotarian become a student and learn all you can about Rotary.  This is your opportunity to do just that.

On October 27-28 (2017) the district will put on the annual training weekend.  This weekend combines the district leadership seminar, district team training, and district assembly.

On Friday 4:00pm we will start with sessions for ADG's, Presidents/PE's, Foundation Chairs and possibly Membership chairs, followed by dinner with a keynote speaker.

On Saturday morning, there will be a place on the agenda for the AGs to give a brief report about some great things happening in each of the areas.  We will try to cover every aspect of Rotary highlighting club projects and fundraiser ideas sharing that stand out so other district clubs can get a bigger picture of what Rotary is doing outside their own club.

Please promote this training with members of your club.  Our recommendation is that each club send at least two people to the training, and help pay the expenses. Registration is $95 and includes meals and speakers, etc.  The Saturday meeting is for all club leaders, officers, chairs, and members who are new to Rotary – so pretty much everybody.  We would like to get lots of participants who have never been to a district event before.

The Watermark Beach Resort will have suites set aside for special Rotary rates.  Call 1.888.755.3480 for reservations and mention you are with Rotary District 5060.  Accommodation website:

This is a great place for a vacation, so be sure to let folks know they can bring spouses and/or families and stay for the weekend.  Stay an extra night and arrange your own club retreat Saturday at your local favorite restaurant.
