Disaster Recovery Fund

About the DISASTER Recovery Fund

In June 2017 the wildfire season was in full swing.  People from all over BC and Washington were asking how they can help.  DG Sherry Chamberlain and Rotarian the late Christopher Sequin met to discuss a plan and to create the terms of reference with others like Matt Dundas.  Meetings with others in town over the course of another few weeks and a committee was created.
Mission: The Rotary Clubs of Kamloops and Area Wildfire Recovery Fund was created in July 2017 with the goal of supporting recovery and rebuild projects in any of the British Columbia communities affected by wildfire. Grants are awarded to assist in replacement or repair of non‐insured social, capital, or cultural losses in affected communities.  In July 2018, the Granting Council voted to change the name to "Disaster Recovery Fund".
