Peace Arch Peninsula: Human Milk Bank in Brazil for newborn preterm babies
 
South Surrey - Happy Home Children’s Centre in Cambodia and a hospice in Thailand.  Also support Rotary World Help Network.
 
 
INNOVATIVE CLUB
 
Abbotsford - effective Zoom meetings; park cleanup
 
Chilliwack - effective Zoom meetings; Feed The Kids food hampers; food hub; tech drive for shut ins; masks for transit users; food drives; books for hospitals, schools & little libraries; random acts of kindness; scholarships; outdoor book sale
 
La Conner:  supplementing city public work service; coordinating with other service groups; snacks for students
 
Lake Stevens - effective Zoom meetings; several outdoor service projects and fundraisers; scholarships; boat parade participation
 
South Surrey - hybrid and full zoom meetings; riddles & games; leadership development training; shredding and gift card events/fundraisers;
 
Stanwood Camano Island - Zoom meetings with international speakers; hybrid meetings; increased use of social media;
 
White Rock - Rotary hut for free Feed My City hot lunches;

Arlington - Haller Park improvements with Stillaguamish Tribe
 
Bellingham Bay - Docks for Kids Project working with city and community groups for H shaped docks for swimming on Lake Whatcom
 
Chilliwack - Feed The Kids working with city and community groups to provide 200 to 370 hampers each week; plus upgrades to Salvation Army buildings.
 
La Conner - surveyed businesses for community projects with cooperation of other service clubs and Chamber of Commerce including cleaning work and clothing drive and craft fairs.
 
Ferndale/PNW Passport clubs - Green Bag Project with Bellingham Rotaract
 
North Delta Rotary - Starfish backpack program
 
South Surrey - kitchen, dining room and laundry room gut/rebuild for Stayte House group home; clothing donation for Launching Pad men’s recovery home; suitcases for foster and homeless youth; Women’s Place hot lunch program; staffing for Peace Arch Hospice Thrift Store; Salvation Army kettles; Canadian Blood Services donations; Coldest Night of the Year program to support Sources Community Resources Society.
 
White Rock - gift card program and Christmas Hampers & Gifts Project for women’s shelters.
 
 
PUBLIC IMAGE
 
Arlington - signs thanking first responders; social media around Duck Dash and other service projects and fund raisers; Rotary holiday cards with candy canes and food baskets to seniors; using community newspaper, website and other social media.
 
South Surrey - displays and information while doing community projects; Rotary brochure; Be Our Guest breakfast cards; use of Facebook and community paper, Peace Arch News.
 
Whidbey Westside - integrated public image strategy to tell the Rotary Story; online auction website; Easter Egg hunts including a golden egg with Rotary pin and invitation; use of social media, email list-serve and posters; volunteers with rabbit ears for delivery; giant cheques and local newspaper stories.
 

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
 
Chilliwack: Shannon Burnett - attending meetings; participating in projects; includes her daughter; responsible for Youth Exchange program
 
Chilliwack After Hours: Fatima Zaidi - embodies and champions diversity as 29 year old Muslim woman; positive attitude; never says no; agreed to serve as President-Elect.
 
Coquitlam: Josephine Tsen - represents club for D5050 Environmental Action Group; participated in club projects; got environmental speakers and developed fundraiser with Tru Earth Corporation; principal team member for new fundraiser, Rotary Rush; worked with local school to redevelop vegetable garden.
 
Lake Stevens: Brian Rewis - took on responsibility for clean up and improvements to Rotary Skate Park; became Chair of club’s Community Service Committee and active with several community projects and fundraisers; hosting board meetings, committee meetings and dinners at his office (“Rotary Clubhouse”).
 
Langley Sunrise: Jennifer Roy - Chaired and organized 50/50 fundraiser for all four Langley area clubs.
 
Monroe: Dr. Justin Blasko - Superintendent of Monroe Public Schools; active in club - both socials and service projects, including working on National Night Out Against Crime (largest attended event in the State).
 
North Delta: Sandy Upton - organized fundraising dinner; became primary fundraiser for Starfish Pack program including large corporate donation and fundraising programs with bottle recycling and M&M Foods so that club can provide weekly backpacks of food to support 115 families.
 
Peace Arch Peninsula: Melanie Smith - on several communities including public image areas such as website, photography, social media; volunteers with Langley Youth Services; joint club’s board.
 
South Surrey: Marjorie Walters - a behind the scenes “wind beneath our wings” person; doesn’t want official position or limelight, but she makes a difference.
 
South Whidbey: Michelle Munro - volunteered to be Director of Fundraising and President-Elect; participates in community service projects with her assist dog, Theo; set up software for holiday wine sales fundraiser; on several committees; redesigned Facebook page; volunteer and leader behind the scenes as inspiration and energizer for club
 
Surrey: Diana Morariu - stepped up whenever asked; energetic and dynamic; jumped in with public image including Facebook and Instagram; active in community projects with her young son.
 
Whidbey Westside: Kara Peabody - actively involved days after joining with Children’s Center playground revitalization and hasn’t stopped since; busy despite neck brace from injury and surgery; joined PolioPlus Society; Captain of Little Free Libraries committee building 5 new little libraries and repairing others; designing projects database dashboard online to ensure projects are done more efficiently; agreed to serve as Club Secretary.
