On Sunday July 21,2019 Brad Whittaker was installed as District Governor for District 5050 for 2019-20.
PDG Larry Stinson (Chilliwack) was the Emcee for the evening and Past Rotary International Vice President Dean Rohrs performed the Installation.
The event was held at the Quality Inn in Abbotsford. 120 Rotarians from District 5050 attended the evening which included great fellowship, a buffet dinner, District Awards, entertainment by the Rotations (Chilliwack Rotary House Band).
On a recent visit to the Chilliwack Rotary Club, PRIVP Dean Rohrs told the club of a new term she had recently heard....DOGOODERY and challenged the "Rotations" to write words to a song DOGOODERY.
At the Installation, the official release of the DOGOODERY song.... written by Joanne Hankey and sung by PP Doug Wickers.
Brad will be 4th District Governor from the Chilliwack club. Previous include: Harold Hicks (1945-1946) Fred George (1988-1989) Larry Stinson (2008-2009).
Club member David Robinson is also a Past District Governor (1999-2000), joined the club after his term.
Carol Tichelman is the District Governor Elect and will serve as District Governor in the 2020-2021 Rotary Year.
One of Brad's duties is to visit all the 58 clubs in the district this Rotary year. His Club Visit Schedule starts August 15th and ends November 21. One of his other duties is to host the District Conference near the end of the Rotary . It will be in Harrison Hot Springs - April 30th to May 3, 2020 and you are all invited to JOIN THE ADVENTURE .
