Building on our History

Celebrating the Present

Welcoming the Future

Join us for the iRotary District Conference right in the heart of downtown Vancouver, BC from May 30 to June 2, 2013 at the Four Seasons Hotel.

The iRotary District Conference will be Bigger, Better and Bolder:  doing things that we have never done before and going back to a place we have never been as a District.

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of Rotary District 5050 - originally formed from a much larger area that included Vancouver and all of BC.  As the Rotary Club of Vancouver celebrates its 100th Anniversary, we are returning for the first time to hold our own Silver Anniversary in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Highlights include a Trolley Tour of Vancouver; golfing; Irish Night; an evening at the Vancouver Aquarium; a fully integrated Rotary Youth Conference; a RYLA for Rotarians, lunch from Vancouver's gourmet food trucks; the first ever Rotary Flash Mob To End Polio Now!; and the ever popular Governor's Ball with our very special keynote speaker, past Rotary International President Ray Klinginsmith.

For more details, visit the iRotary District Conference website at http://irotary5050.org.

To register for the iRotary District Conference just click here!  The cost of full registration (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) is $350. Thursday events (golf, Trolley Tour, Irish Night) are additional as either stand alone or package events. Saturday/Sunday only and Friday Aquarium only options are also available.

To book your hotel room, go to the Four Seasons Hotel website and enter "CI0513ROTA" in the field for corporate / promo code to ensure you receive the special pricing for the Conference of only $180 per night plus taxes for a regular room until April 15.  NOTE:  PROMO CODE IS CASE SENSITIVE AND IT IS DIFFICULT TO TELL THE LETTERS FROM THE NUMBERS (Sean's tip:  use copy and paste!)

BE AN iROTARY OFFICIAL SPONSOR OR SUPPLIER

To recognize Rotarians and supporters and to allow us to hold a bigger, better but affordable District Conference, we are seeking sponsorships from Rotarians and businesses as well as offering Requests For Proposals.

For details, email Nita Hollick (nita@yourpromo.net)

Sponsors will be given recognition and promotion throughout the leadup as well as at the iRotary District Conference and receive complimentary tickets to events and activities.

FOUR WAY TEST CONTEST

WHAT DOES THE "i" IN "iROTARY" MEAN?

With its humble beginnings as a direct, tongue-in-cheek, ripoff of the mighty Apple Corporation, the importance of the little "i" touches on Governor Sean's themes and messages to Rotarians in District 5050.

The "i" refers to:

The power of the iGeneration:  the power of our youth and our Next Generation of Rotarians.  The first truly digital generation - raised on the internet, iTunes, iPhones, iPods and iPads.  A reminder that as Rotary today is fundamentally different from Rotary in the first half of the 20th Century, so too, do we need to fundamentally change Rotary to welcome our younger members into Rotary's fellowship and service.

The power of the individual:  the power of one person to make a difference.  Just as Rotary grew from the modest vision of founder, Paul Harris, every day we see examples of individuals who lead society through their own visions, principles, ethical standards and passion to make a difference and to do good in the world.

The power of the international:  the power of the many people who built on the vision of Paul Harris, as well as the power of Rotarians and our partners to make dreams real - particularly the dream of a polio free world.

The power to inspire:  the ability to share and connect the vision and the passion of the individual to the power and abilities of the international.  We must share our Rotary stories and build vibrant Rotary clubs and engaged, enthusiastic and energetic Rotarians.

Help us to make Rotary and Rotarians

Bigger, Better and Bolder

and Celebrate our Successes Together

at the

iRotary District Conference!
