Generous Rotarians

Giving bikes and sports equipment to children and families!

The Rotary Club of Lake Stevens saw the joy on the faces of the 58 children and their parents when they picked up a new bike and a helmet in another very successful Bikes for Tykes giveaway. This was a partnership between the Rotary Club of Lake Stevens, the Family Center, the Lake Stevens Fire Department and Ebenezer. Fightfighters were on hand to provide the helmet fitting and to talk to the families and children. The Family Center was there with two volunteers to assist with the Spanish speaking families and Ebenezer provided the distribution point for these families to pick up the bikes and helmets.

Several Rotary clubs in the Surrey and White Rock areas formed REC For Kids to distribute slightly used bikes, ice skates, roller skates and lots of soccer, football and other sports equipment for children in need. If you have any such equipment taking up space in the basement or garage, REC For Kids will gladly accept it, refurbish it and distribute it. The address is 13379 - 168th Street, Surrey and the phone number is 604-598-0322. Presently, office hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 - 2. Volunteers to help sort and clean the equipment are also welcome.
