Rotary International's Peace President (2012-13), Sakuji Tanaka and his wife, Kyoko, have personally donated US $500,000 to The Rotary Foundation to endow the Sakuji Tanaka Endowed Rotary World Peace Fellowship.

The Otto and Fran Walter Foundation will match any additional donations, up to US $500,000 with the goal to increase the Tanaka Endowment to $150 million for the celebration of the 100th Anniversary of The Rotary Foundation.

There is an even greater need for Peace Scholars with the recent attacks in Paris and elsewhere, and with the millions of people whose lives have been devastated by conflict.

Giving Tuesday (December 1) is a perfect time to consider your charitable donation giving for this tax year.

Whatever amount you are able to contribute, know that it will be matched and that it will contribute to ensuring Peace Through Service.

A Contribution Form is in the left column for to complete and return with your contribution.  You can download a brochure on the Campaign for Peace Committee in the left column with contact information for regional committee members in various parts of the world.

You can also visit this website for more information:  http://peacethroughservice.org/

To
ensure that your gift is acknowledged and matched, please send an email to Campaign Chair, Marty Helman (maryrotary@gmail.com), as well as to Rotary staff Peggy Asseo (peggy.asseo@rotary.org) and Carolyn Ferguson (Carolyn.ferguson@rotary.org).
