ANNOUNCEMENTS
There will not be a meeting Tuesday November 21st.
Board meeting will be held at La Frontera 5:00 PM Tuesday, November 28th.
Christmas social is December 1, begins at 5:00 PM in the Ag Center. Tickets are $37.50 per person.
Please sign up at the next Rotary meeting if you plan to attend. Denny will be collecting payments for the dinner at our meeting Tuesday November 28th.
Update forDistrict Grant for ADA bathroom at the Train Depot. Plans have been drawn up and submitted to the city. A General Contractor will be chosen soon.
Bert gave us a report on the Luna Vista Foundation. The Beer Fest raised over $27,000 for the foundation, $10,000 was given to the Yolo food bank which was our main foundation recipient this year. Funds also donated to the "Kids Read Program" and used to help support our efforts in picking fruit for the Food Bank. The foundation would like suggestions from club members for other projects to support.
The matter of wine as a raffle prize needs to be further investigated, there is some question about alcohol being given as a prize, limiting the age of those who may buy a raffle ticket.
PROGRAM
Former District Govenor Karl Diekman presented an informative question and answer session on the Rotary Foundation. Members were given an opportunity to learn more about the foundations efforts in Fundraising, Recognition, District Grants, Gobal Grants and Stewardship. Karl took questions on the various topics and explained the general function and purpose of the Rotary Foundation.
