Doug - Is on the hunt and hoping to find a meeting place where all three clubs can meet in the same place.  His hope is that we could all ( Three Rotary Clubs)  own the building, which could be great for future events and generating rental revenue.  He is looking at a possible grant application for this endeavor .
Joe, Gary and Doug finished putting the roof on the Fair Ticket booth this week.

Brian attended the Rotaract meeting last week and was inspired by their Camaraderie, Fellowship and Earnestness.  " Great bunch of kids."

Brian - The City of Woodland is on board for our 4 to 8 time change for the Brew Fest.  They have requested a 3/4 ton vehicle on either side of main street. (Hoblit Ford was mentioned)  We may also be hiring 2 Woodland Police officers for the event.

PROGRAM

HOMELESS OUT REACH STREET TEAM or HOST

Speaker Lt. Heath Parsons from the Woodland PD, gave us an overview of what the HOST team is doing in regards to their Homeless Outreach program.
Lt Parsons stated that the mains goals are as follows:
-Help People get off the streets
-Arrest those that are problem transients
-Reduce blight
-Reduce calls for service
-Reduce business impact.
Forty percent of the calls to the police department are complaints stemming from problems with some of our transient population. The main responsibility of this two person team is to address the calls in regards to the homeless population of Woodland and to find solutions to the complaints.
The number one goal is to try and get the homeless off the streets and into a shelter or permanent living situation.  The problem is there is not any permanent housing here in Woodland.
The city leaders want to hire a coordinator to look into arranging interim and permanent housing for our homeless.
The HOST team has been instrumental in cleaning up the camps, along with the assistance of Cal Trans, to remove debris left by the camps.
HOST is also holding monthly meetings with other city and county agencies to coordinate their efforts in solving the homeless problem in Woodland.
