A full house welcomes District Governor Dave Dacus and then watched lots of members getting pinned.

President Charlene welcomes a very full house as almost all our members were in attendance for an action packed meeting.  We welcomed DG Dave Dacus, AG Dean Labadie (who did a great job on the recently completed District Conference), Rachel Donaldson (Davis Noon member) from the Yolo County Crisis Nursery (YCCN) who we are partnering with for our Christmas project, and club favorite Sean Colon.  The Decoration fairies did a fantastic job and the food was great also.  We had a couple quick announcements: A wonderful Thank You card from the Downtown Association for fixing up their stage (yeah for Doug!) and to contact Cass or Lynette to help out with our Christmas plans for the YCCN.  So busy were we that we had to skip Happy Dollars.  With DG Dave in attendance we honored several members as a  Paul Harris Fellow (PHF).  First  up was Doug Vanderpool for his first PHF.  Then as a surprise President Charlene was honored with her 4th PHF.  It was also announced that in the future we will honor our next set of PHFs: Ute, Tim, and, with a check tonight, Bert will receive his first - Congrats to all!  We also honored (and pinned) our two newest members: Lonnie and Maribeth who were sponsored by Don Lambert.  It is always fun when we induct new members and tonight was no different.  And finally, DG Dave Dacus gave us an update on the District and what it means to him to be a Rotarian.  He and his wife are spreading the new about Shaken Baby syndrome and he had one of the plastic baby that is use to educate new parents on this problem.  He discussed putting a face on all the good work that Rotary does and working on activities to fund raise for money from non-Rotarians.  Dave talked about how the recently completed District conference really opened up to the world what Rotary is all about.  In fact several non Rotarians who participated had pledged to join Rotary after learning what good we do in the community and around the world.  Dave finished up with a message that resonates with all of us:  Dave stated he joined Rotary for the fellowship and has stayed to improve and change people's lives!
