The Return of the Sheriff

Luna Vista welcomes back Yolo County Sheriff Ed Prieto for another discussion on Law Enforcement in Yolo County.

President Charlene welcomed a very full house with a couple of travelers (Don & Dexter) back in town. Charlene talked about upcoming events including District Governor Dave Dacus visiting us next week. Also coming up is the Rotary Day at Golden Gate Fields and the annual Woodland Rotary Christmas party. This year's party is Friday, December 2nd at the Fliers Club. Please let Ute or Charlene know if you want to join us for the festivities. Luna Vista will also focus their Holiday time for the Yolo Crisis Nursery. Instead of hosting a party this year, we will be delivering much needed supplies for the nursery. Please contact Charlene or Cass for items that are needed. After a rousing Happy Dollars segment (which included some words of wisdom from Joe "Wiener Juice" Muller), we heard from Sheriff Prieto. We learned he and Joanie Q have the same birthday and some fun stories about raising his daughters. The Sheriff also discussed the anticipated effects of AB109 and the local detention center here in town. The key element is that no one knows what will happen until the process kicks in. Sheriff Prieto also discussed how he really believes in giving people a little push to turn their lives around. Thank you Sheriff Prieto for a nice program.
