PP Joe Muller welcomes Libby Earthman from Putah Creek Council our beneficiary from Oktoberfest.
With President Vinnie still on the road, PP Joe Muller stepped in to run our usual Thursday night fun.  We welcomed our friend Gloria from Uganda who is the current President of her Rotary club in Uganda and, more importantly, a Grandmother to 2 new grandkids less than 2 months old.Doug reported that the Banner project at the Yolo County Fairgrounds is underway and we are looking for someone to sponsor the purchase of the banner - let Doug know if you can help.  We have been asked to help at a couple of upcoming events - Stroll thru History (9/8) & Yolo Land Trust A Day in The Country (9/9).  Let Ute or Joe know if you can help.  Petra reminded everyone that our annual dues are due to RI so you should see an invoice shortly for $150.  Our program was Libby Earthman from the Putah Creek Council who is our beneficiary from our upcoming Oktoberfest event.  They believe that a Thriving Creek Builds a Thriving Community.  They focus on educating the community (especially the kids) as well as environmental stewardship.  She showed us some examples of their project in Winters and educated us on Water Sheds.  Another project they do with kids is the Flats Project where they have the kids plant grasses near water release to take the toxins out from the water that comes from the gutters.  Thanks Libby for a nice program!.
