"Cowboy" Don Lambert electrifies the crowd!
We had a great meeting this week with a tremendous program from PE Don Lambert on his journey through PETS (more on that later). President Cass got us going by wishing everyone a Happy Easter. She also told us that she and Craig will be living out the movie "Meet The Faulkers" as they are off soon to meet their future daughter-in-law's parents. Cass also reminded the group of the upcoming Board meeting (April 6) and that we will have a round table meeting on the 15th so we can attended the Rotary Park BBQ on Sunday the 18th. If you can't make it on the 18th, stop by on the 15th for a quick drink. Always great to hear the Happy Dollar stories so if you missed the meeting this week stop by next week and catch up with everyone. The highlight of the night was PE Don Lambert and his talk about attending PETS. Don has the banner for the 2010-2011 year and talked about the new RI President and his slogan for the year (Ray Klinginsmith â€" Building Communities, Bridging Continents). He told some of the "Cowboy Logic" that the new president used in his speech. Some were wise (Good judgment comes from experience and it comes from bad judgment) and others were fun (Don't squat with spurs on). Don talked about how many other PE would approach him for information about how our club has been able to accomplish so much (Dingle literacy, X-mas party, Tanzania). His talk ended with a standing ovation from everyone! Don proved to be the best comedian in the club since Joe Muller so watch out 2010-2011! Next week we will be visited by our Camp Royal participant Vanessa van Muyden, Ted & Susan from Project Amigo and a great program on Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Come join us (and bring a friend)!!!
