Many amigas & amigos were in attendance for our Club Assembly and a tad late Cinco de Mayo celebration
President Vinnie welcomed our good friend Cecil Padilla (who recently had a big write up in the Rotarian magazine) to help with our celebration.  Cecil received a standing ovation from the club!  As always, the decorations and ambiance were wonderful (the center pieces were wonderful lace handkerchiefs made by a member of the village) and we dined on some authentic Mexican food from Vince's restaurant (thanks Maribeth & Lonny!).  And Cass & Craig shared some delicious tequila from their hacienda down next to Project Amigo. Bueno!  and we had a birthday cake for Petra to cap off our evening.  Since we had a club assembly, there were several reports from folks before Dexter gathered his team together for a committee meeting on the Micro Brew Festival.  Happy dollars celebrated Petra's birthday, some trips folks are taking as well as Cecil's big article in the Rotarian.  Doug gave a quick update on the pole project saying we are inching forward and hope to bring the project in with no more expenditures.  Cass & Craig also were thankful for Jay Gerber a Davis Rotarian who recently passed away.  He sponsored over 30 people into Rotary!  Paul gave a recap on our Foundation giving and Char talked about the recent District Assembly she attended including a session given by Past RI President Cliff Dochtorman on putting Fun into Rotary.  Dexter gave a brief recap on the progress of the Festival - the committee displayed several logo sample that they are considering.  They need to get this wrapped up so we can start distributing sponsor packets.  So far, we have 8 breweries interested as well as Smoky D's and the Holy Rosary Taco group for food.
