LUNA VISTA CLUB ASSEMBLY

WORK DAYS

The next cemetery work day will be March 31.  Bring shovels hoes and gloves to join other Woodland Rotary members working from 9 to 11AM this Saturday to weed and plant in this gorgeous spring weather.
We have a new prospective member Dustin who is coming to help with our Cemetery work on Saturday.  If you are going, make sure to introduce yourself and say hello.

Our international President Ian Riesly"s project for putting in a tree for every Rotary member in our club will be taking place at Pioneer High School this April or May.  The City is going to provide the trees.  Tom and Brian met with the Principal and the School District and Maintenance Manager for possible tree locations.   We will have the project completed by the end of May.  Brian has volunteered to take responsibility for watering the trees this summer and he will need our help.

We are meeting with Wendy next week at St. Johns retirement home to determine what is needed for the patio garden project.  Updates to follow.

UPCOMING EVENTS

April 7th will be our District Club Assembly in Fairfield at Angelo Rodriguez High School, 5000 Red Top Rd.   Find classes about Best Practices for Clubs,  FUNdraising,  Planning Ahead, Handling Club Issues .... I know we always say it, but there is so much good information to share out there.  In appreciation for your attendance, a drawing will be held for a variety of prizes, including the grand prize of 1,000 Paul Harris points for an Award that you can gift to whomever you choose. Come and join in the fun!

May 15th we are joining the Sunrise and Noon Clubs for a Woodland  all club BBQ at the Railroad Depot in lieu of our regular location.  Come and see what our grant project is all about.

May 16th is the Mystery Golf Tournament.  Paul gave us a brief and entertaining synopsis of the days events which begin with a mystery bus trip to the Golf Course with snacks and adult beverages, small bets on the destination golf course, round of golf, lunch, adult beverages, and stop at Winery for tour, tasting, more adult beverages and then arrive back home at around 5PM.    Just a great day for fun fellowship and camaraderie.  Event tickets are $100.00.

May 19th we host the Chinese Consulate delegation for our annual Ag tour and lunch.  This is a wonderful event and great opportunity for all that can, to come and join the fun. This event is a all hands on deck sort of day.  Ute Turner will be coordinating the event and circulating a volunteer list this month.

UPDATE ON GRANT PROJECT

President Tom and Doug met with the Railroad Depot Board President and committee in charge of Bathroom Project.  The Plans have been drafted and the RRD President will be taking them to the city to get the permit.  When that is complete we can begin work on the bathroom facility.  Hopefully to be completed by July.

POSSIBLE UPCOMING PROJECTS

Tom, Dan and Sandy met with Lieutenant Heath Parsons of the Woodland PD to visit the location of their Police Activities League facility.  This is a great program for the youth in our community.  Lt. Parsons said there is a need for volunteers to complete the painting and flooring for the building.
They also are in need of funds to manage their budget for the year.  Dan felt this would be a great project to look into for our club.

Two wild and crazy Guys!!!
