President Tom and the speakers from Empower Yolo stand by the mock up of the new mega-kitchen for their facility in Davis.
For those that have some availability next week: There will be workdays out at the Fairgrounds Rotary Park beer garden: Paver project. They will be paving Thursday through Saturday April 19th through the 21st. Each day from 8 AM till 5 PM.
Please let President Tom if you can work any portion of that time, and he'll let Dean Labadie know.
Dan Brown announced he will be setting up a work day soon to prep the PAL hall. Also, Dinner On Main will be September 16, 2018 - Tix on sale soon!
The District Conference at Tahoe is coming up on May 4 - 6. You don't have to spend all 3 days there if you can't make the time. Some folks are driving up on Saturday for the day to attend the seminars and enjoy the fellowship with other Rotarians. Let President Tom know if you are interested (especially for car pooling).

For our presentation, we had Cathy Farman And Dr. Emily Prieto-Tseregounis from Empower Yolo speak to us on their latest activities. The biggest recent change is they use to be the Sexual Assualt and Domestic Violence Center and have merged to form Empower Yolo. Luna Vista has done several projects with the old SADVAC including refurbishing their play ground equipment in the back yard of their facility in Davis.
Cathy and Emily also spoke to us about a Capital Project they are undertaking to upgrade the kitchen facilities at their place in Davis so there is a lot more elbow room and storage for all the families that are staying there. They are just in the planning stages but it looks to be quite large and expensive undertaking - think 6 kitchens in one!
